Happy Friday! Do you have plans for the weekend? Our family has started a tradition on Friday of taking our kids to the park for dinner. My husband meets us at the park after work, and I either bring dinner or he picks something up. It is often the highlight of my week. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
What is your Why of FI? Such a great question. It was a question posed to guests at Camp FI by a few FI bloggers. I heard here, on the Afford Anything podcast.
So fun to hear the diversity of answers. Also, this is a great podcast.
It is so important to define your why before you begin to implement your process. Pursuing FI can be a long and at times soul-crushing journey. You need to have that thing that you are working towards else it may be easy to lose your way.
Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?
Honestly, I do not fully understand all of this. I do feel like I get the overall idea of what Mr. Burry is saying.
Index funds are a fan favorite in the FI community. Do you own index funds? Are you worried about the scenario he is painting?
For those of you as excited as I am for the start of fall. This is a great infographic that tells you the peak fall foliage in your area.
I am currently reading this book.
Don’t be scared. I am not telling you to have more kids (Bryan Caplan is).
If you have kids or are thinking about having kids, this is a great read.
Mr. Caplan makes the assertion that nature will almost always trump nurture. With this being said, we as parents are putting way to much pressure on ourselves. Once you can get over this idea (which can be hard to swallow); that you can gently persuade but most likely not fundamentally change your children, you are free to parent less and enjoy more.
With all of that extra time; why not have another kid!
As if I needed another reason to love farmers.
Have a lovely weekend.
